D.C. woman killed in District Heights crash on Marlboro Pike

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — A single-vehicle crash early Sunday on Marlboro Pike in District Heights left a Washington, D.C., woman dead and another woman injured, according to police.

Officers responded to the 6800 block of Marlboro Pike near Walters Lane at approximately 2:30 a.m. Investigators determined that Erika Boykin, 31, of Washington, D.C., lost control of her vehicle and struck multiple trees.

Boykin was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, authorities said.

The crash is being investigated by The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit.
