Dad Charged for Shooting of 3-Year-Old Child with His Unsecured Gun

COLUMBUS, OH – An incident led to a 3-year-old child sustaining a gunshot wound from an improperly secured firearm. Columbus Police were called to Nationwide Children’s Hospital shortly before 11 p.m. last Friday.

Abdalla Abdalla, a 21-year-old father, rushed his child to the hospital following the incident.

Initial uncertainty about the event’s location was clarified when family members confirmed the shooting occurred at their residence on the 1800 block of Hollow Run Drive.

Investigation revealed Abdalla had left his handgun in an unlocked drawer accessible to the child. The father, upon hearing the commotion, discovered the incident and sought to clean the wound before hospitalization.

Charges of child endangerment have been filed against Abdalla. The Columbus Police Department is handling the ongoing investigation, and further details will emerge as the case progresses.
