SCHENECTADY, NY – An arrest has been made following the death of a five-year-old girl in Schenectady. Early yesterday morning, Schenectady Police and Fire Department paramedics were dispatched to 203 Elmer Ave, where they found the child unconscious and not breathing. She was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
Robert S. Buskey, 33, the father of the deceased child, has been charged with second-degree manslaughter and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The Schenectady Police Department’s Youth Aide Bureau is conducting an ongoing investigation.
Reports say the girl was starved to death by her father.
Buskey is currently awaiting arraignment in Schenectady City Court. The name of the deceased child has not been released.
