Dancer, Clifton Open Space Bills Receive $91 Million in Funding

JACKSON-A set of bills sponsored by Jackson’s District 12 Republicans Ron Dancer and Rob Clifton will secure $91 million for open space funding, including $12 million for recreation and conservation.

“I think outdoorsmen are going to like this a lot,” Senator Thompson said. “This money will go towards making improvements at boating and fishing access facilities, camp sites, as well as other infrastructure projects.”

The funding came from three bills sponsored in part by the local Republican team.  All three bills use money from dedicated corporation business tax revenues to provide grants or other funding to develop or acquire land for use as open space.
