Darien Man Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Vehicular Homicide

ERIE COUNTY, NY – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn recently announced that Nicholas M. Rich, 35, of Darien, pleaded guilty to Aggravated Vehicular Homicide.

The plea was entered before State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek on Monday morning.

On October 13, Rich was involved in a high-speed collision while under the influence of alcohol.

The crash occurred at Broadway and Schwartz Road in Lancaster, resulting in the death of a 10-year-old boy and injuries to two others.

Rich is scheduled for sentencing on January 30, 2024, and faces a maximum of 25 years in prison. He remains held without bail.
