Dating App Encounter Ends With Knife Held to Womans Throat As She Was Robbed

NEW YORK, NY – Early on Friday, December 29, at around 4:00 AM, an incident of armed robbery occurred in an apartment near East 187 Street and Beaumont Avenue. A 19-year-old woman, who met an individual through a dating app, became a victim of the crime in her own apartment.

The suspect, after entering the victim’s residence, threatened her with a knife held to her throat and forcibly stole her cellphone. Following the robbery, the assailant fled the apartment on foot, heading in an unspecified direction.

The victim, who declined medical assistance at the scene, was not physically harmed. Police are investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made yet.
