Daughter arrested after father fatally shot in heated argument in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD — A family dispute turned deadly in Baltimore’s Northwest District, as police arrested 37-year-old Shanelle Reed for fatally shooting her father, Brian Reed, during an argument on Saturday evening.

Officers responding to the 5600 block of Groveland Avenue at approximately 6:55 p.m. discovered 59-year-old Brian Reed suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Investigators determined that the shooting stemmed from a verbal dispute between the father and daughter. Shanelle Reed was taken into custody at the scene and later charged with first-degree murder at the Central Booking Intake Facility.
