DC businesses hit in burglary spree, suspects caught on camera

WASHINGTON, DC — A break-in at a Southeast DC business early Friday morning is part of a string of crimes police are now investigating. Surveillance footage captured one of the suspects involved.

The burglary occurred around 4:41 a.m. on February 14 in the 700 block of 8th Street, SE. One suspect forced entry into the business while a second acted as a lookout. Once inside, the suspect stole property before both fled the scene.

Authorities are also investigating two other offenses that took place the same morning. Around 3:26 a.m., suspects attempted but failed to break into a business in the 2600 block of Connecticut Avenue, NW. At 4:18 a.m., suspects successfully entered a business in the 3500 block of 12th Street, NE, stealing property before escaping.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with details is urged to call (202) 727-9099 or text MPD’s tip line at 50411.
