Gunfire before dawn leaves DC man dead on Livingston Road
FORT WASHINGTON, MD – A 31-year-old Washington, D.C., man was shot and killed before sunrise Wednesday in Fort Washington, prompting a homicide investigation as detectives search for a motive and suspect.
Prince George’s County Police responded at approximately 2:35 a.m. Wednesday to the 9500 block of Livingston Road for a reported shooting.
Officers arriving on scene located Tyrone Gantt, 31, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide Unit detectives have taken over the investigation and are working to determine what led to the fatal shooting and who may be responsible.
Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
