DC Targeted by Brazen Armed Robberies as Suspect Strikes Twice in One Morning

Washington, DC – A series of robbery offenses has led the Metropolitan Police Department to seek the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect.

On Tuesday morning, the suspect was involved in two separate incidents:

  • Assault with Intent to Rob: At approximately 10:40 a.m., the suspect approached a victim in the 500 block of 1st Street, Southeast. The suspect assaulted the victim and attempted to steal their property before fleeing the scene.
  • Armed Robbery: Just 30 minutes later, around 11:10 a.m., the same suspect approached another victim inside a building in the 1400 block of 4th Street, Southwest. This time, the suspect brandished a handgun and took the victim’s property before escaping.

Authorities urge anyone who can identify the suspect or has information about these incidents to refrain from taking action but to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for violent crimes in the District of Columbia.
