Surveillance images released after materials and other property were reported stolen from residential properties days apart
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police have released surveillance images of a suspect accused of carrying out two thefts in Southeast Washington and are asking the public for help identifying the individual.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the first theft occurred on May 7 at approximately 4 p.m. in the 2000 block of 18th Street Southeast.
Investigators said the suspect approached a victim’s patio and stole building materials before leaving the area.
A second theft was reported a week later on May 14 at approximately 4:04 p.m. in the 1600 block of W Street Southeast.
Police said the same suspect entered a victim’s yard and stole property before fleeing.
Surveillance cameras captured images and video of the suspect during the incidents. The footage has been released as investigators seek assistance from the public in identifying the individual.
No arrests have been announced.
