Murder charge filed in Harrisburg street killing after months long probe

HARRISBURG, PA – A homicide investigation that began with gunfire at a city intersection late last year has now led to murder and firearms charges against a 26-year-old man accused of playing a central role in the deadly shooting.

Mar-Quan Long-Mason, 26, has been charged in connection with the December 30 homicide at South 25th and Burma Streets, where a victim was shot and killed. Prosecutors filed charges following investigative developments that culminated in Long-Mason’s arrest.

Court records show Long-Mason is charged with one count of murder, one count of carrying a firearm without a license, one count of possession of a firearm prohibited, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, and one count of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

The charges stem from allegations that Long-Mason was involved in the fatal shooting and actions taken afterward connected to the handling of evidence. Details regarding the victim have not been released in the charging documents.
