Deadly Motorcycle Crash on I-64 in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — A tragic multi-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle resulted in the death of a Norfolk man early Saturday morning on Interstate 64. The Virginia State Police reported that the accident occurred at approximately 2:30 AM at the 286 mile-marker in Virginia Beach.

Samuel R. Stoy, 25, was driving a 2021 Kawasaki ZX636K eastbound on I-64 when his motorcycle collided with the rear of a 2019 Alfa Romeo. Following the initial collision, Stoy was ejected from his motorcycle and subsequently struck by a 2024 Nissan Kicks. Despite wearing a helmet, Stoy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have reported that none of the other drivers involved in the crash sustained injuries. Speed is currently being investigated as a contributing factor to the crash, which remains under active investigation by the Virginia State Police.
