Deadly Nightclub Shooting in DC Hookah Lounge Claims Life of Former Collegiate Star

WASHINGTON, DC – The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch is investigating a late-night shooting at the Cru Hookah Lounge on the 1300 block of H Street, Northeast, that resulted in the death of one man and injuries to three other individuals.

At around 11:51 p.m. on Saturday, First District officers arrived at the scene and found three men and one woman with gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victims to local hospitals.

A former collegiate basketball star was killed in the incident.

Blake Bozeman, a 31-year-old man from Southeast, DC, succumbed to his injuries. The other three victims are in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5’7”, last seen wearing a white or cream sweater and a black hat. He was last seen heading westbound on H Street, Northeast.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this homicide.
