Deadly Towson crash kills man and his dog

Man and dog killed crossing Towsontown Boulevard in tragic Towson crash

Towson, MD – A quiet afternoon turned fatal when a man walking his dog was struck by a vehicle on Towsontown Boulevard, leaving both the pedestrian and the animal dead and prompting an ongoing investigation by crash experts.

Just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, emergency crews were called to the intersection of Towsontown Boulevard and Emerson Drive in Towson, where they found a severely injured man and a wounded dog in the roadway. The two had been hit by a 2014 Toyota Camry heading westbound on Towsontown Boulevard, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

The pedestrian, identified as 32-year-old Jordan Sachs, was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts by medical staff, Sachs was pronounced dead later that evening. His dog, also critically injured, was transported to a local animal hospital by a nearby resident but did not survive.

The driver of the Camry remained at the scene and has been cooperating with investigators. No charges have been filed at this time, and authorities have not released details about whether speed or impairment were factors in the crash.

Members of the department’s Crash Team have launched a formal investigation, which remains ongoing. The area where the collision occurred is a busy corridor near several residential and commercial properties, and investigators are working to determine if crosswalk use, visibility, or road conditions played any role.

Officials have not disclosed whether surveillance footage or additional eyewitnesses have been identified.

Sachs was a resident of the Towson area, and his death has drawn local attention in a community where pedestrian safety has been a frequent concern.
