Lisbon man turns $5 scratch off into $100,000 payday
LISBON, OH – A Columbiana County man who said he usually loses more than he wins is now holding a $100,000 prize after a $5 Holiday Lucky Times 10 Scratch-Off ticket delivered the game’s top payout.
The Lisbon resident purchased the seasonal scratch-off at Uni-Mart, located at 40890 state Route 154 and 11 in Lisbon.
He told Ohio Lottery officials he chose the Holiday Lucky Times 10 ticket at random because it was a seasonal game. After scratching the ticket, he uncovered a $100,000 winning prize.
Following 26.76% in combined federal and state taxes, he will receive $73,250.
The winner said he plans to use the money to pay off debt and invest the remainder.
As of Thursday, Feb. 20, one $100,000 top prize remains in the Holiday Lucky Times 10 game.
Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $34 billion to education, according to lottery officials.
