Decatur Mom Dumped Newborn Baby in Nearby Dumpster

DECATUR, AL – On Tuesday, the Decatur Police Department initiated a well-being check for Cindy Nicole Crow, 36, believed to have recently given birth. The Criminal Investigation Division took over, confirming Crow’s recent pregnancy. However, the newborn was missing.

The investigation led to a dumpster at Wally World Mini Mart, 2505 Point Mallard Drive SE, where a deceased newborn girl was discovered on October 18. The body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for autopsy.

Evidence led to a felony warrant for Crow for Abuse of a Corpse, a Class C Felony. She was arrested at her Decatur residence and booked into Morgan County Jail with a bond set at $200,000.

The investigation continues, with additional charges anticipated pending autopsy results and further evidence.
