Deer Park Man Arrested for Stalking Women Online

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – Joseph Mathews, 49, was arrested by Suffolk County Police at his Deer Park residence on Tuesday, after being accused of stalking four women online and over the phone for the past three years.

After receiving sexually inappropriate phone calls and messages from an unknown man, four women separately contacted the police. Investigators from the Fifth Precinct Crime Section determined that Mathews found their contact information online through local business and neighborhood pages.

Mathews now faces four counts of Stalking 2nd Degree. If any other individuals believe they may have been a victim of Mathews, they are urged to contact the Fifth Precinct Crime Section at 631-854-8526.
