Delaware Man Arrested for DUI and Felony Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

BRIDGEVILLE, DE – Kyleef Watts, a 44-year-old man from Bridgeville, Delaware, was arrested on Sunday afternoon for driving under the influence and felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Coverdale Road north of Fisher Circle.

Delaware State Police initiated the stop after discovering that the registration of the white Nissan Murano Watts was driving had been suspended by the Division of Motor Vehicles for lack of insurance.

Upon stopping the vehicle and contacting Watts, the trooper observed signs of impairment and smelled burnt marijuana. This led to Watts being taken into custody for DUI.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed approximately 385.74 grams (over 13.5 ounces) of marijuana.

Watts was transported to Troop 5 and charged with multiple offenses, including Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 Quantity (Felony), Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Have Insurance Identification in Possession, and Cancelled Registration.

Watts was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on his own recognizance.
