Delaware State Police Investigate Early Morning Shooting in Hartly

HARTLY, DE — The Delaware State Police are investigating an incident involving shots fired at a Hartly residence early this morning. Authorities were called to a home on the 2000 block of Slaughter Station Road around 4:00 AM on July 2, 2024, following reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, troopers discovered numerous shell casings indicating that several rounds were fired at the house from a vehicle that quickly left the scene. At the time of the shooting, two adults were inside the home; fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The motive behind the shooting is still unclear, and detectives are actively seeking information to identify the suspect or suspects involved. The investigation into this dangerous incident continues as state police work to ensure the safety of the community.
