Delaware State Police investigating fatal motorcycle crash in Greenwood

Greenwood, DE – A Dover man was killed Friday morning in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Beach Highway, Delaware State Police reported.

The crash occurred around 7:10 a.m. on August 29 when a gray Kawasaki ZX6 was traveling westbound at high speed. Investigators said the rider attempted to pass two vehicles by moving into the eastbound lane but lost control after reentering the westbound lane. The motorcycle skidded off the roadway and struck a utility pole, ejecting the rider.

The 39-year-old male rider was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.

The roadway was closed for about five hours while the Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated and cleared the scene.
