Delaware State Police investigating parking lot robbery in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, Del. — Delaware State Police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of the Manor Creek Shopping Center on North Dupont Parkway.

At approximately 1:08 p.m. on January 26, a suspect approached the victim, displayed a knife, and demanded the victim’s belongings, according to investigators. The victim resisted, resulting in a brief struggle before the suspect fled the scene without obtaining any property.

The victim sustained minor injuries during the encounter but did not require hospitalization.

Police describe the suspect as a Black male between 6’0” and 6’3” tall, weighing 220-240 pounds. He was last seen wearing tan pants and a green hooded sweatshirt. Surveillance video or images of the suspect have not yet been released.
