Delaware Woman Faces DUI and Drug Charges After Georgetown Crash

GEORGETOWN, DE – Delaware State Police have taken 49-year-old Maria Flores of Lincoln, Delaware, into custody on charges of DUI and drug possession following a morning collision in Georgetown.

The incident occurred on February 7, 2024, around 7:19 a.m., involving Flores’s white BMW and a black Ford van at the intersection of Gravel Hill Road and Johnson Road. Responding to the scene, a trooper noted signs of impairment in Flores and conducted field sobriety tests, which led to her arrest.

A subsequent search revealed approximately .587 grams of heroin, eight ecstasy pills, and drug paraphernalia in Flores’s possession. She was then transported to Troop 4 for processing.

Following arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 3, Flores was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution with a secured bond set at $8,800.
