TOMS RIVER, NJ – It’s election time, and thousands of mail-in ballots and early voting results show Democrats outpacing Republicans across Brick Township and Toms River.
Combined, Democrats in District 10, encompassing Toms River, Brick, and Point Pleasant, have cast 3,994 ballots compared to Republicans who cast just 3,438. 1,302 Unaffiliated voters have either voted early or sent in their mail-in ballots.
Regarding in-person, early voting, 348 Republicans have voted, and 180 Democrats cast ballots. 117 Unaffiliated voters cast ballots on Saturday and Sunday.
Democrats have sent in 3,814 mail-in ballots to the Republicans’ 3,090.
Traditionally, in Ocean County, Democrats have always had a higher turnout rate for mail-in ballots and early voting. It’s not too late to send in your mail-in ballot for next Tuesday’s election.
There are two key contested races in the district.

In Toms River, Republican Dan Rodrick is going against Democrat Ben Giovine for mayor. In Brick, Mayor Lisa Crate is defending her seat against New Jersey State Assemblyman John Catalano.
