Deputies Named in Deadly Police Suit that Left Maryland Girl Dead

BALTIMORE, MD – The Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division (IID) has released the names of the deputies involved in a fatal police pursuit that occurred on Sunday in Calvert County.

The deputies identified are Wyatt McDowell, who has been with the criminal investigations bureau for eight years, and Michael Lewis, a seven-year veteran from the patrol bureau.

The incident resulted in the death of a juvenile female, whose identity remains undisclosed due to juvenile privacy laws. The IID, aided by the Maryland State Police Crash Team, is actively investigating the details surrounding the tragic event.
