Desperate Search Underway for Beloved Puppy Stolen from a boat in DC

Washington, DC – A heartbreaking theft has left a Southeast DC family searching for their beloved dog, stolen from a boat.

On Friday, October 11, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to reports of a theft in the 100 block of Potomac Avenue, Southeast. Upon arrival, they discovered that a boat had been broken into and a dog was missing.

The stolen dog is a 3-month-old black Cane Corso with white markings on its paws and freshly cropped ears. The dog responds to the name “Pepper.” A photo of the dog is available for identification.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to refrain from taking action but to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for this crime.
