Discovery of Missing Newport News Man’s Remains Initiates Homicide Investigation

Newport News, VA – The remains of Tyreek Lemar Vincent, a missing person from Newport News, were found on Dafia Drive in Hampton on Wednesday during an investigation by local authorities. Vincent’s disappearance had been under scrutiny, and a tip aided by technology led to the discovery. The Newport News Police have now launched a homicide investigation.

Police Chief Steve Drew expressed gratitude for the collaboration between detectives and the Hampton Police Division. Acknowledging the teamwork, he thanked the division for its assistance and dedication to finding Vincent. Vincent, who went missing on September 20, was described as a 22-year-old black male with distinctive tattoos and grooming features. He was last seen in specific clothing items, including a grey hoodie and black shoes. Vincent was considered endangered due to unspecified concerns for his safety at the time of his disappearance.
