Newark, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a woman wanted for questioning regarding a shooting incident that occurred early Wednesday morning on May 1, 2024.
The victim was shot in the leg while walking on Elizabeth Avenue. He managed to call an Uber which transported him to Beth Israel Medical Center shortly after hearing gunshots in the area. The woman in question, captured in surveillance footage, escorted the victim to the emergency room before leaving.
Director Fragé is encouraging anyone with information on the woman’s identity to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Police Division’s website.
