Domestic Assault Reported on West Chestnut Street

WILKES-BARRE, PA- The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department responded to a domestic assault incident on West Chestnut Street. The incident occurred on October 8 at 10:38 PM involving a confrontation between two individuals.

The defendant, identified as 38-year-old Ramel Williams from Wilkes-Barre, was involved in an altercation with a 32-year-old female victim, also from Wilkes-Barre. Upon returning home from playing poker, a verbal dispute arose between the two parties. During the altercation, the defendant reportedly physically assaulted the victim by throwing her to the ground and striking her face repeatedly.

Responding officers noticed visible injuries on the victim, concentrated around her right eye and neck area. Following the victim’s statements and evidence on the scene, Ramel Williams was taken into custody. He was then transported to City Headquarters where he awaited arraignment.
