Domestic dispute turned violent on North Main Street, leaving woman injured and man in jail

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A 44-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning after police say he assaulted a 68-year-old woman during a domestic dispute at a North Main Street residence.

Officers with the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department responded to the scene at 9:21 a.m., where they found the victim, who alleged that Victor Correa struck her in the face with a closed fist during a verbal argument.

EMS personnel treated the woman at the scene, according to police. Her condition has not been disclosed, and authorities did not report any need for hospitalization.

Correa was taken into custody at the residence without incident and transported to police headquarters for processing.

The case remains under investigation, police said.
