Wilkes-Barre man arrested on active warrant after domestic dispute call

WILKES-BARRE, PA – A 51-year-old man was taken into custody late Wednesday night after officers responding to a domestic dispute discovered he had an active arrest warrant.

Police said they were called to a residence on Academy Street around 11:24 p.m. on August 27 for reports of a domestic disturbance. During the investigation, officers learned that the man involved, identified as Michael McCleary of Wilkes-Barre, was wanted by the Luzerne County Sheriff’s Department.

McCleary was arrested at the scene without incident and transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.

No additional details regarding the domestic dispute were released, and police confirmed the arrest was made solely on the outstanding warrant.
