Donora Man Charged Following Fatal Shooting in West Elizabeth

Allegheny County, PA – A Donora man has been charged in relation to a double shooting that occurred late Friday night in West Elizabeth Borough. County 9-1-1 received a call at 10:38 p.m. reporting the incident at Beer Belly’s bar, where two adult males were found with gunshot wounds. One victim, 36-year-old Edward Gibson, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was hospitalized in stable condition.

Elizabeth Township Police enlisted the help of the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit to investigate. Interviews with witnesses indicated that the shooting took place in the bar’s parking lot. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Jacob Snyder, was apprehended shortly after in Jefferson Hills. A firearm registered to Snyder was also seized.

Snyder faces charges of criminal homicide, attempted homicide, and aggravated assault, and is currently held at the Allegheny County Jail awaiting his preliminary hearing.
