Double Homicide Outside Rochester Bar

ROCHESTER, NY – A double homicide took place early Sunday morning on the city’s north side.

Police officers near North and Weld streets heard multiple gunshots from the S & T Lounge area around 1:45 a.m.

Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim in the middle of North Street, pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim was found in a nearby parking lot and was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased have been identified as Ervin Wiggins, 40, and Porter Mizell, 45, both residents of the city.

At this stage of the investigation, it is unclear if multiple individuals were involved in the gunfire or whether the victims were the intended targets.
