Double Shooting Leaves Teen Dead in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A fatal shooting in Southeast D.C. is under investigation.

On Monday evening, at approximately 8:25 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3000 block of Stanton Road, Southeast. Upon arrival, they discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One, identified as 19-year-old Vonte Martin of Southeast D.C., was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim, also an adult male, was transported to a local hospital for treatment by D.C. Fire and EMS.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. Individuals with information are urged to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or text their tips to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
