Dover Police Investigate Fatal Collision Involving Officer

DOVER, DE – The Dover Police Department is investigating a fatal vehicle collision involving one of its officers.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, at 7:59 a.m. at the intersection of South Little Creek Road and Signal Street. Loreen Miller, a 59-year-old resident of Dover, was seriously injured and later died on Sunday while receiving treatment at a New Castle County Hospital.

The officer involved, a 4-year veteran of the Dover Police Department, has been placed on administrative leave with pay, pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Dover Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating the incident.
