Downtown Toms River to host annual tree lighting with live entertainment

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Downtown Toms River is set to take place on Wednesday, December 6, offering live holiday entertainment, refreshments, and an appearance by Santa Claus.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. in the courtyard of Town Hall, with live performances scheduled to entertain attendees. At 7 p.m., Santa will arrive on a fire truck to officially light the tree, marking the start of the holiday season.

Following the lighting, families can take photos with Santa inside Town Hall. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting Volunteer Toms River Fire Company #1.

Local restaurants and businesses in the downtown area will remain open during the event. Organizers have reminded attendees that pets are not permitted at the tree lighting.
