Driveby gunfire erupts outside Monroeville business as shooter opens fire from white pickup

A man was shot and a woman injured Saturday evening in a targeted shooting in Monroeville, prompting an investigation by the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit.

The shooting occurred around 6:49 p.m. in the 4000 block of William Penn Highway. First responders arrived to find an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in stable condition. An adult female at the scene was also hospitalized for minor lacerations.

Preliminary findings indicate that a white Ford F-150 entered a parking lot and opened fire on the male victim. Police have not disclosed how many shots were fired or whether there were additional suspects involved.

The shooter fled the scene, and no arrests have been made as of Sunday. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Allegheny County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
