Driver Charged for Deadly Hit and Run That Killed 3-Year-Old Boy In Queens

QUEENS, NY – Kevin Gomez, a 20-year-old male from Queens, was arrested and charged on Thursday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident. The New York Police Department’s Highway District Collision Investigation Squad continues to investigate the case.

Gomez, residing at 60-99 60 Road, faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and permitting unlicensed operation. His arrest follows an incident on Wednesday, where a 3-year-old boy was struck and killed by a vehicle in Queens.

The NYPD responded to a 911 call on Wednesday at approximately 1839 hours, reporting a pedestrian hit at College Point Boulevard and 41st Avenue. Investigation revealed that a white 2014 Infiniti Q50, allegedly driven by Gomez, struck the young pedestrian, identified as Quintas Chen, while pulling away from the curb. Chen was hit by the driver-side tires and later pronounced deceased at New York Presbyterian Hospital Queens Hospital.

Following the incident, the vehicle was found unoccupied at College Point Boulevard and Pople Avenue.
