Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 3:45 a.m., where they found a Jeep Compass that had collided with the rear trailer of a tractor-trailer parked on the left shoulder. The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, pending notification of the next of kin. The tractor-trailer driver was uninjured and declined medical attention, according to police.
