Drug Influenced Suspect Threatening Self Harm Detained Outside Holy Family Club

NAZARETH, PA – On Saturday, Nazareth Police Department officers responded to a call at 515 Mauch Chunk Street, near the Holy Family Club.

They encountered a male threatening self-harm and manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance.

The individual admitted to attempting suicide earlier in the day.

As officers attempted to take the individual into custody for hospital admission, he tried to flee, prompting the officers to use force for apprehension.

The individual, charged with related offenses, was subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment. The Nazareth Police Department continues to handle the situation, ensuring the safety and well-being of all involved.
