Drunk Driver With Children in Car Says He Only Had Three Beers

STAFFORD, Va. — A man was arrested Friday evening for driving under the influence with two children in his vehicle at the intersection of Kings Highway and Cool Springs Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy W.E. Trainor responded to a report of a suspected drunk driver at 5:56 p.m. The caller reported that the driver of a Chevy appeared to be intoxicated. Upon arriving at the scene, Deputy Trainor made contact with the driver, who exhibited signs of intoxication.

The driver admitted to consuming “three beers” prior to getting behind the wheel, authorities said. Two children were also found in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

The driver was arrested and charged with driving under the influence with a child present. He was taken into custody and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until he was sober.
