Dundalk Man’s $1 Million Lottery Win Comes from $20 Ticket

DUNDALK, MD – A decision to switch from a $30 to a $20 FAST PLAY ticket paid off for a Dundalk man, who won the $1,045,588 FAST PLAY Extreme Green progressive jackpot.

The winner, who prefers to be known as “Extreme Green Dream,” claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters on July 29. He was with friends at Squire’s Restaurant, located at 6723 Holabird Avenue, when he discovered his winning ticket.

Contemplating a $30 ticket purchase, the winner opted for the $20 Extreme Green game instead, thinking his wife might not appreciate the larger spend. When the ticket printed, he quickly realized he held a million-dollar winner. Excited, he alerted his friends to his good fortune.

The winner, a regular Lottery player, previously won $1,500 on a Keno ticket. A woman at Squire’s advised him to sign the winning ticket immediately, and he called his wife to share the news. However, in his excitement, he misplaced the ticket, eventually finding it in his car.

Comfortable in retirement, the winner has no plans for lifestyle changes and will continue working for enjoyment. Squire’s Restaurant will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
