Early Morning Shooting in Rocky Mount Sends Man to Hospital

ROCKY MOUNT, NC – An early morning shooting has left a 43-year-old man injured.

Rocky Mount Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 700 block of Cokey Road at approximately 1:04 a.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, officers found the man with a gunshot injury.

Subsequent evidence at the scene suggests the incident was a drive-by shooting. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still being pieced together.

The investigation remains active, and the Rocky Mount Police Department seeks any information that can assist in clarifying the events of the incident.
