EAST FISHKILL, NY – Officer Dan DiDato of the East Fishkill Police Department lost his life in a vehicle accident on the Taconic State Parkway near Mile Marker 36.2.
The crash occurred around 6:00 pm last Friday as Officer DiDato was heading to the Westchester Medical Center. He was scheduled to interview a pedestrian struck near the East Fishkill police station.
During his travel, DiDato’s patrol car veered off the road and collided with a tree.
He was immediately rushed to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Officer DiDato, aged 18 years with the East Fishkill Police Department and a former employee of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection for four years, is remembered for his dedicated service.
