Edgewater Sells $50K Winning Powerball Ticket

EDGEWATER, MD — A lucky Powerball player has won $50,000 after purchasing a ticket for Wednesday night’s drawing at 24-7 Tobacco & Grocery on 119 Mayo Road in Edgewater. The ticket matched the winning numbers 06, 19, 35, 47, 57, and the Powerball number 9, making it the 37th third-tier prize sold in Maryland this year.

Lottery officials advise winners to sign the back of their tickets and keep them in a safe place. Prizes must be claimed within 182 days of the drawing. Instructions for claiming prizes are available on the Maryland Lottery website. Prizes over $25,000 must be redeemed by mail or in person at the Lottery headquarters in Baltimore by appointment only.

The Powerball jackpot has increased to an estimated $201 million for the drawing on Saturday, August 10, with a cash option of $100 million. Players can watch Powerball and Double Play drawings live at mdlottery.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m., with Double Play following between 11:25 p.m. and 11:29 p.m.
