37 arrests and more than 3,300 calls mark busy first half of February in Egg Harbor Township
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ – More than 3,300 calls for service and 37 arrests kept officers moving across Egg Harbor Township during the first two weeks of February, according to figures released in the department’s latest police blotter.
Between February 1 and February 15, officers responded to 3,381 calls for service. The department reported 241 EMS calls, 19 domestic violence calls, and 61 motor vehicle crashes.
Police conducted 542 motor vehicle stops and issued 349 tickets. Three people were arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Officers also handled five vehicle burglaries, four commercial burglaries and one residential burglary. Directed patrols totaled 11, while 1,533 property checks and 25 community policing functions were conducted during the reporting period.
Among those arrested were individuals charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, weapons offenses, shoplifting, burglary, criminal mischief, obstruction, trespassing and drug-related offenses. Several arrests were made on outstanding warrants.
Notable charges during the period included aggravated assault and weapons offenses in separate incidents on February 1, February 6 and February 9. Three individuals were charged with driving under the influence on February 6, February 7 and February 14.
All charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
