Elderly Man Assaulted on “R” Train at 25th Street Station

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at approximately 9:15 a.m., an unidentified individual assaulted a 72-year-old man on a southbound “R” train inside the 25th Street subway station, police reported.

The incident began with a verbal dispute between the assailant and the victim, which escalated when the assailant punched the elderly man in the head.

The victim sustained minor injuries and received medical attention at the scene. The suspect fled the station to parts unknown.

Authorities are investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to contact the police.
