Elderly Pennsylvania Man Dies from Burns Sustained in Brush Fire

SLATINGTON, PA — An 89-year-old man from Slatington, Pennsylvania, succumbed to severe burns he sustained while burning brush at his home last month. Leo C. Pavelco’s clothing caught fire during the incident, which occurred around 5 PM on April 22, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio.

Pavelco suffered burns covering 30.5% of his body and was hospitalized shortly after the accident. He passed away on May 3, just after 8 PM, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.
