Elderly Queens Man Arrested for Luring and Stalking 12-Year-Old Girl

QUEENS, NY — A 72-year-old Queens man has been arrested in connection with the stalking and harassment of a 12-year-old girl, the New York City Police Department announced.

Badiul Jamal, of 32-18 81st Street, was taken into custody and charged with luring a child, second-degree stalking, and first-degree harassment.

Police say the incident occurred on Monday, January 6, 2025, around 3:30 p.m. near 81st Street and 31st Avenue, when Jamal allegedly followed the girl multiple times before grabbing her hand and fleeing northbound.

The victim was not injured during the encounter, authorities confirmed.

The NYPD is continuing to investigate the case and has asked for the public’s help in identifying any additional information related to the incident.
