Elderly Woman Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Incident in the Bronx

BRONX, NY — A hit-and-run accident on Friday left a 71-year-old woman critically injured in the Bronx. The incident occurred as the victim was walking eastbound on Burnside Avenue towards Jerome Avenue and was struck by an individual riding a white electric motorized vehicle.

The assailant, described as a slim male with a light complexion and ponytail, approximately 5’6″ tall, was last observed fleeing north on Jerome Avenue. He was wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and white sneakers. Following the collision, the victim, who suffered severe head and facial injuries, was rushed to Saint Barnabas Hospital in a critical state.
